Need strategies to boost a staff members’, or your own, ability to take action when encountering the challenging behaviour of a student? Want to be able to better support parents with the challenging behaviour of their children? Interested in extending your understanding of function-based approaches to behaviour?
Challenging behaviour of students has a significant impact on the behaviour of the people around them. This workshop will outline how the principles of behaviour analysis help build an understanding of what this impact can look like. This perspective will broaden attendees’ understanding of how to better prepare themselves or those they support to respond effectively in the moment. In addition, it will expand awareness of how the behaviour of additional parties, such as parents or peers, may be influenced by the occurrence of challenging behaviour.
This workshop is suited to those interested in
- Supporting others in the management of challenging behaviour.
- Removing barriers to the effective implementation of behaviour support plans.
- Assisting parents in understanding challenging behaviour.
- Self-care for teachers encountering challenging behaviour.
This workshop focuses on standards 4.3 and 7.3 of the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers .
